Aidan is Network Manager of Omagh Forum, the Rural Support Network for the Omagh District.  Formed in 1989, Omagh Forum actively supports communities to help themselves through the following objectives; Empowering the voice of rural communities; Championing excellence in community development practice; Developing civic leadership in rural communities through a community development approach; Actively working towards and equitable and peaceful society; Promoting the sustainable development of rural communities. 

 

Aidan has wide experience of working in both the statutory and voluntary sector including the Housing Executive, Omagh District Council, University of Ulster and latterly Omagh Forum. He has third level qualifications in Public Administration and Community Youth Work from the University of Ulster. 

 

Omagh Forum are keen advocates for adequate long term funding of the community and voluntary sector to help sustain the excellent work that is going on in rural communities.

 

Aidan is an advocate of Integrated Education, having been involved in setting up both the Omagh Integrated Primary School and Drumragh College in Omagh.
